Powertrain Analysis
The S07B engine has a 658 cc displacement, inline three-cylinder architecture, DOHC valvetrain, and 12 valves. The naturally aspirated calibration produces 58 PS (57 hp) at 7,300 rpm and 65 Nm (48 lb-ft) at 4,800 rpm.
The turbocharged calibration produces 64 PS (63 hp) at 6,000 rpm and 104 Nm (77 lb-ft) at 2,600 rpm. Turbo torque reaches its maximum 2,200 rpm earlier than naturally aspirated peak torque.
Both engine calibrations use a continuously variable transmission. Available drive layouts are front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive.
Chassis and Dynamics
The front suspension uses MacPherson struts in both drivetrain layouts. The front brake system uses ventilated discs, while the rear axle uses drum brakes with ABS.
Front-wheel-drive versions use a rear torsion-beam suspension. All-wheel-drive versions use a rear De Dion axle, separating the rear suspension specification by drivetrain configuration.
The Mugen exterior package includes a front lower spoiler, front grille garnish, side sill spoilers, ventilated door visors, roof spoiler, and rear under-spoiler. The wheel package uses 15-inch multi-spoke aluminum wheels.
Dimensions and Practicality
The N-BOX Custom body measures 3,395 mm in length, 1,475 mm in width, and 1,790–1,810 mm in height. The 3,395 mm length and 1,475 mm width conform to Japanese kei-car dimensional limits.
The cabin specification includes dual power-sliding rear doors, an ultra-low floor, and fold-flat rear seats. The rear-seat configuration accommodates full-sized bicycles or tall cargo.
The instrumentation includes a 7-inch full-color TFT driver information display and a central touchscreen infotainment panel. Honda SENSING equipment includes Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist, and Adaptive Cruise Control.
