Powertrain Analysis

The LT6 is a 5.5-liter naturally aspirated V8 with a flat-plane crankshaft. Maximum output is 670 hp at 8,400 rpm, while maximum torque is 623 Nm at 6,300 rpm. The engine speed limit is 8,600 rpm.

An 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission transfers LT6 output to the rear wheels. The rear-wheel-drive layout and approximately 2.6-second 0–60 mph time define the recorded straight-line performance specification.

The 3LZ configuration combines the LT6 powertrain with an 8-inch HD infotainment touchscreen, a customizable head-up display and a 14-speaker Bose Performance Series audio system. The Performance Data Recorder integrates 1080p video capture with lap-time and vehicle-dynamics telemetry.

Chassis & Dynamics

Magnetic Ride Control 4.0 is standard equipment. The adaptive damping system reads road conditions up to 1,000 times per second and adjusts damping firmness through its control system.

The Brembo braking package uses 6-piston front calipers and 4-piston rear calipers. The Z06 Convertible body is 3.6 inches wider than the Corvette Stingray, providing additional width for tire packaging and cooling airflow.

Dimensions & Practicality

The convertible uses a power-retractable hardtop that completes its lowering cycle in 16 seconds. Hardtop operation is enabled at speeds of up to 30 mph, equivalent to 48 km/h.

The retractable roof retains the coupe’s structural-rigidity and storage-capability configuration. Interior 3LZ trim includes a custom leather-wrapped instrument panel, door panels and console, micro-suede upper trim and real carbon-fiber steering-wheel trim.
