Powertrain Analysis
The Polaris RZR Pro R uses a ProStar Fury 2.0L naturally aspirated inline four-cylinder engine with dual overhead camshafts and 1,997 cc of displacement. Peak output is rated at 225 HP. The high-displacement four-cylinder architecture supplies the power required for deep sand, high-speed desert terrain, rock surfaces, and uneven trail conditions.
A heavy-duty automatic PVT transmission provides High range, Low range, and Reverse. The selectable Pro Performance drive system offers True 2WD, 4WD, and 4WD Lock operating modes. This drivetrain configuration combines two-wheel-drive operation with selectable four-wheel-drive traction and a locked four-wheel-drive setting.
Chassis & Dynamics
The RZR Pro R chassis uses a one-piece welded steel frame with high-strength tubing. Its 74.0-inch stance establishes a wide-track layout intended to increase lateral stability during high-speed sweepers, rough terrain transitions, and off-camber trail sections.
The front suspension uses dual A-arms with high-clearance links and provides up to 27.0 inches of usable wheel travel. Rear suspension is a MaxLink trailing-arm system with up to 29.0 inches of usable travel. The rear axle therefore has 2.0 inches more available travel than the front axle.
Electronically controlled internal-bypass coilovers continuously adjust compression and rebound behavior using terrain and vehicle-speed inputs. Comfort, Rock, Track, and Baja modes alter throttle sensitivity and damping calibration. Ground clearance measures approximately 16.0 inches, equal to 406 mm.
Dimensions & Practicality
The 74.0-inch stance and approximately 16.0-inch ground clearance define the primary off-road packaging dimensions. The wide footprint is paired with beadlock-ready wheels and heavy-duty all-terrain tires designed for loose sand, gravel, and rocky surfaces.
The cockpit integrates bolstered bucket seats and multi-point racing harnesses. A touchscreen navigation system includes GPS mapping, group trail tracking, and live telemetry without cellular-network dependence. Digital instrumentation displays belt temperature, oil pressure, and selected suspension mode data.
