The Ferrari 849 Testarossa concept uses a mid-rear engine berlinetta configuration. The engine bay is supplied by sculpted vertical side intake channels positioned behind the cabin area, replacing the original Testarossa’s full-length horizontal side strakes with a more compact intake treatment.

The side channels direct airflow toward the engine compartment and active cooling channels. Dual exhaust outlets are mounted centrally at a high position within the rear fascia, above the multi-channel diffuser architecture.

Chassis and Dynamics

The aerodynamic package combines a front splitter, integrated ducktail spoiler, and an expansive rear diffuser. The front splitter manages airflow at the lower edge of the front fascia, while the ducktail defines the trailing edge of the bodywork.

The rear section uses a carbon-fiber multi-channel diffuser to manage underbody airflow. Horizontal rear lighting spans the tail section, while the centrally positioned exhaust outlets are integrated above the diffuser plane.

A gloss-black floating roof canopy contrasts with the Rosso Corsa bodywork. The canopy treatment visually separates the roof structure from the side body surfaces and emphasizes the low roofline of the two-seat berlinetta body.

Dimensions and Practicality

The cabin configuration provides two seats within a two-door berlinetta body. The mid-rear engine layout places the powertrain behind the passenger compartment and ahead of the rear axle area.

The body profile incorporates vertical side cooling channels rather than full-length lateral strakes. This arrangement retains the Testarossa intake theme while integrating cooling ducting into the modern mid-rear-engine silhouette.
