Powertrain Analysis
The M102.992 powerplant uses a 2.5-liter inline-four architecture with dual overhead camshafts and 16 valves. Factory output reaches 235 PS, equivalent to 232 hp or 173 kW, at 7,200 rpm. Peak torque is rated at 245 Nm, equivalent to 181 lb-ft, at 5,000 rpm. Cosworth participated in the engine’s development program.
The transmission is a Getrag five-speed manual with a dog-leg shift pattern placing first gear separately from the upper-ratio shift plane. Rear-wheel drive transfers output through a mechanical limited-slip differential. The restomod configuration includes a front-mounted intercooler, positioned behind the lower front bumper intake, alongside upgraded forced-induction visual hardware.
Chassis & Dynamics
The chassis uses a multi-link rear suspension layout with upgraded damping. Rear-wheel drive, the mechanical limited-slip differential and the five-speed manual transmission form the primary drivetrain configuration. Enlarged disc brakes provide the braking hardware specification.
Aerodynamic hardware includes flared wide-body fender arches, an extended front splitter and a large adjustable rear wing. The splitter and rear wing are configured for high-speed downforce. Gold multi-spoke alloy wheels use low-profile performance tires, while dark-tinted lighting units and a lower bumper intercooler opening complete the exterior specification.
Homologation Configuration
The Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5-16 Evolution II production total is limited to 502 units for Group A homologation. The factory mechanical specification combines a 2.5-liter 16-valve DOHC four-cylinder engine, 235 PS output, rear-wheel drive and a mechanical limited-slip differential.
The restomod visual configuration retains Evolution II aerodynamic elements through the adjustable rear wing, extended splitter and wide fender arches. The metallic emerald green finish contrasts with gold motorsport-style wheels and dark-tinted lighting assemblies.
